Indie Vortex is a 2019 Lagoon 40 — the smallest Lagoon in the fleet and, for a lot of people, the sweet spot. Short enough to slip into thin water and tight anchorages behind the cays, but laid out with four double cabins and four private heads, so nobody is sharing a bathroom for a week.
Lagoon put the helm up and aft on this model, on its own raised station to starboard. It gives whoever is steering a clear view down both sides and over the coachroof, and it leaves the cockpit below free for everyone else — a small design decision that changes how the boat feels with a full crew aboard.
Wraparound saloon windows, a galley opening onto the aft cockpit, and a lounge on the foredeck. Easy-mannered under sail and undemanding at anchor, she suits a family or two couples who would rather move most days than settle into one bay.

Four double cabins, each with its own head — berths for eight, with a galley-up saloon and the helm on a raised station aft.
